National Musium which is located on Jalan Merdeka Barat No. 12, is famous with MUSIUM GAJAH. Why? Because in front of the especialy in the front yard of the musium there is an Elephant statue, made of silver, a present from Siam King (now Thailand) King Somdej Praparamintramaha Chulalongkorn to the government of Batavia on March 1871.
This musium was built on Aoril 24, 1778 by Bataviaasch Genootschap van kunsten en Wetenschappen and was opened on 1868 by Batavia Science and Art Community in past Indonesia.
